Guide for uploading your JHA to Procore for GC review and approval as part of your pre-mobilization safety package.
General Contractors increasingly require task-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) from subcontractors before allowing work to begin. JHAs identify the specific hazards associated with each task in your scope of work and the control measures you'll implement. Here's how to submit yours in Procore.
Log in to Procore and navigate to your project's Safety or Documents module.
Locate the folder designated for JHAs or pre-mobilization documents. Some GCs create a specific 'JHA' subfolder.
Upload your JHA as a PDF. If you have multiple JHAs for different tasks, upload each one separately with clear naming.
Tag each JHA with the specific trade or task it covers: 'JHA - Electrical Rough-In - [Company Name]'.
Submit for review and notify the GC safety director or project manager.
Update your JHAs if scope changes occur during the project — Procore tracks revision history.
GCs often require a new JHA for each major task or phase of work. Have your JHAs ready before the pre-construction meeting.
Many GCs use Procore's Observations tool in conjunction with JHAs. Make sure your crew has reviewed the JHA before starting each task.
Reference specific OSHA standards in your JHA for each identified hazard — this demonstrates thorough analysis.
OSHA Publication 3071 — Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). SafeDocs will offer this document soon.
